Celebrating Nature, Friendship & Renewal at Camp Jubilee

On May 8, 2026, 20 mothers and their children boarded a boat bound for beautiful Camp Jubilee in Indian Arm, British Columbia, for a memorable weekend filled with outdoor adventure, friendship, laughter, and a chance to step away from the pressures of everyday life.

Family Camp is a heartfelt gift made possible by Soroptimist of North & West Vancouver that believes every family deserves moments of peace, laughter, and connection.

Camp Jubilee Retreat is a hidden gem just minutes from the city, yet worlds away from everyday life. Set on 128 acres of stunning oceanfront along majestic Indian Arm, it offers a peaceful escape into nature.

Soroptimist 7th Annual Family Camp

Surrounded by the beauty of nature, families experienced moments of peace, joy, and connection that many will not soon forget. Children and moms enjoyed canoeing, archery, nature exploration, and learning how to build shelters in the forest. Camp counsellors brought incredible energy and enthusiasm to every activity, helping participants try new experiences and create lasting memories together.

For many families, the weekend offered far more than recreation.

“It was a wonderful experience for us, and it happened to be in the middle of a very difficult time. I found kindness and peace in a moment when I was losing faith in myself.”

For the mothers, Family Camp provided something especially meaningful: time to rest, connect, and feel supported. With meals and daily responsibilities taken care of, many had the rare opportunity to relax, share stories, build friendships, and simply enjoy being present with their children.

My daughter and I truly appreciated the experience. It felt magical to be pulled out of the usual non-stop pace of life and placed in such a beautiful natural space with so many lovely people. It was wonderful meeting other single moms who understand the joys and challenges we share.

More than just a weekend getaway, Camp Jubilee created a sense of belonging, community, and hope. Experiences like these remind families that they are not alone and that moments of joy, connection, and renewal can have a lasting impact long after the campfire has gone out.

Through programs like Family Camp, Soroptimist continues to support and empower women and families by creating opportunities for connection, encouragement, and brighter futures.
