A Weekend to Remember: Family Camp 2025 at Camp Jubilee

Every spring, something magical happens at Camp Jubilee on North Vancouver’s stunning Indian Arm. From May 2 to 4, the 6th annual Family Camp—hosted by Soroptimist International of North and West Vancouver—welcomed 34 excited campers for a weekend of connection, laughter, and outdoor adventure.

Family Camp at Camp Jubilee

The journey began with a boat ride from Cates Park, as families set off across the water with wide eyes and open hearts. For many, it was their first real escape into nature—an opportunity to hit pause on everyday life and embrace the simple joys of the outdoors.

Once at camp, the fun kicked off with a variety of hands-on activities. Kids and moms alike dove into beach studies, practiced their aim at archery, tackled team-building challenges, and learned how to build shelters in the woods. Even the youngest campers—some just three years old—joined in with big grins and boundless energy. Camp counsellors kept the excitement going, guiding everyone through each new adventure with enthusiasm.

As the sun dipped behind the mountains, families gathered around the campfire for a cozy evening of songs, stories, and toasted marshmallows. Sticky fingers, melted chocolate smiles, and the sound of laughter filled the cool night air—moments that will live long in the memories of both kids and adults.

For the mothers, Family Camp offers something especially valuable: rest, connection, and community. With meals and chores taken care of, they had the rare chance to relax, talk, and share stories with one another. New friendships blossomed as phone numbers were exchanged and support networks quietly took root.

More than just a getaway, Family Camp is a weekend of renewal for families who have faced challenges—and a reminder that joy, nature, and a sense of belonging can be powerful healing forces.

Here’s to another incredible year—and many more to come.
