Soroptimist is an international volunteer service organisation for
business and professional women who work to improve the lives of women
and girls, in local communities and throughout the world.

Women's Opportunity Award
Cash awards are given to women who are heads of
households and are the primary source of financial support for the families to
enable them to to further their career goals. Every year, $1million is
given throughout the Americas through this award.
Partnering with Women for Women
International
in Project Independence
An international project form 2003 - 2007 aiming to
raise US$1.2 million to provide nearly 2,000 women with the skills they need to
rebuild their lives after war in Bosnia, Rwanda and Afghanistan. $750,000
have been raised to date and 1,200 women have been assisted. Women
for Women International are the 2006 recipients of the Conrad Hilton
Humanitarian award - the largest Humanitarian award in the world of
$1.5million.
